A "final" judgment in a family
law action does not necessarily mark the end of litigation between
the parties. A good many orders are modifiable and, quite often,
are modified long after the judgment's finality.
Kinsey Law Offices has been handling cases
involving modification of family law judgments and orders since
1976 including, but not limited to, the following:
General Procedural Outline:
Motions for modification of orders are generally made by way
of an "Order To Show Cause" in the court where the judgment
or order being modifiec was originally made.
The motion is filed with the court and a hearing is set about
a month later. The responding party must be timely served.
Any modification is retroactive to the date of filing.

- Most Cases: $250 per hour against
a $2,500 minimum fee to be paid in advance
Costs:
- Initial Filing Fee: About $300 (periodically
increased by the State of California)
- Motion Filing Fees: Approximately
$40 per motion
- Process Server's Fees: Approximately
$50 per service
